In the past so many weeks, I have been working on Anatares website. I am not going to show what it looks like here. Webdesigning is a lot of work. No matter what I have done is I always to do something I have not done and with that, I learn something new.
I wanted to put javascript in so I did. I first redid NHS and if it worked with NHS, it was going to be done over at Antares. I not a huge fan of Javascript in the past, but the pull down menus I have made I have to say are good. Most sites that have them, are terrible. If its done correctly, it can be good. Believe me, I have seen some bad sites that the menus drive me nuts since you won't keep the menu very well. Keep things simple is good.
I learned about different javascript libraries. I heard of Jquery which Nova uses, but with my project, I ended up using prototype. Since I using ipb ipcontent, I found that ipb is using protoype, so I went that direction. While learning about all this, what I found interesting is that squidoo was also using prototype.
Javascript is something I have to fully learn as that is my downfall. I can understand css and html no problem, but Javascript is something new to me, but as I keep working with it, I will start understanding it all. Once I get the hang of it, then I can move on and start really learning how to make my php based apps hopefully.
IPB is very powerful and have left room especially since 3.0 came out to where you can extend ipb. I am still learning, but I did learn how to create one hook.
I have modified my one skin as a few problems were found so those issues have been fixed.
