Progress for the darkness skin has been slow, but it will be coming out as soon as I can. I did get a bit sidetracked a bit with updating this site a bit. As you know New Horizon Spaces is mostly using all addon products or third party addons for IPB. I do have a billing software that came with my webhosting, but soon trying to migrate away from that. What does that mean for you? Instead of going to support.newhorizonspaces.com, you just come right to this forum as I have a shop right on this board. Its called Icommerce. It does lack some of the functions of the billing software, but the advantage is that you would have only one log in rather than dealing with multiple logins. That is the main thing I am looking at these days.
How many of you get annoyed if for different parts of a site you have more than one log in? I know I get annoyed and with my current webhosting company, they have multiple log in for billing and the forums. Then obviously I have another one just for getting into my control panel too.
I am not going to go into about the billing software here today. That shall wait til another blog post as I cover what needs to be done in that area.
Having said that, what updates have I done. It has to do with our resource site.
As you may or may not know, I have been using their CCS which is community content system. That is on the main site, but also our resource and in development support site will be also using it.
The main site itself is using it. Resource was using it before, but it was using the forum look to get those databases to work. I had since updated the resources site for articles, ads and Hosting part of to where its not looking like it was part of the forum, so it has its own style. What I ended up doing was adding more CSS codes to. The only thing that it is lacking is the Text editor you get when posting in the forum. That part I am still working on. The main thing is that I managed to get it working with its own theme without resorting to the forum to do all the work.
Having said that, the parts of the resource site that does link to the forum as they are part of the forum are: links, blogs, gallery, and downloads.
As long as you are registered on this board, you can in fact add to the database which is what the resource site is. Its a fountain of information, but takes time to get to that point.
